I am running win. XP with 512 MB ram. On the bottom of my desktop there are
two computers with an X on them, I assume this is the network icon. I do not
have networking set up, there is only one computer in my home. When I go
online it takes forever to load the software, and I am wondering if it has
anything to do with networking. Question 1--Can I get rid of this icon?
Question 2- If I go into the control panel and click on network connections,
I have AOL under dial-up and then under Lan or high speed internet, I have
local area connection 7. Under AOL it says disconnected and under LAN it
says a network cable is unplugged. What doesw all of this mean? Is any of
this why it takes so long for the software to load? How do I get rid of the
networking?
