Hey all....i just got a new board and reinstalled Windows XP pro. The weird
thing is when I restart the Network icon (2 little screens in system tray)
wont show up. I have it set to "show icon when connected" I am connected to
the internet. The only way it pops up is when I go to my Network connections
window from control panel. Right when I double click the icon for that, the
system tray icon pops up. It will not pop up otherwise....

Is this a known bug or something?

Go into Display properties, click the desktop tab, then
clickthe customize desktop button, Under desktop icons
check My network places and it will show up on your
desktop

I think you misunderstood his question. He is talking about the icons
in your system tray that blick when traffic is flowing through the
NIC.

As for a solution I'm sorry but I have not ran into this problem.
