Network icon in system tray

The icon is usually two computers with a red X, or a yellow triangle,
or a blue circle.

I had a moment when there was nothing on the two computers and I
couldn't connect to a site. After a minute it went back to normal.
Do you know what that might mean? If I had no connection, I would
expect a red X there.

It means for a brief period you lost internet connection but had local connection.
