network disk drive has stopped responding backup set aborted

While taking the backup on the netork with a 12/24 GB
DAT . I get the follwing error.
"network disk drive has stopped responding backup set
aborted".

The backup terminate after certain time.

It is possible that the computer that hosts that drive has stopped responding.
