network dianostic problem

Hi,
Idont know if this is the right forum but,
while using kazaa i noticed very little or no connections for my download so
i ran the net dianostics in help and support.It seems there a problem with my
ip address.I use a motorola sb4200 modem and the test say this is
failing.This is what i get:
IPAddress = 82.41.120.211 (FAILED)
Pinging 82.41.120.211 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Ping statistics for 82.41.120.211:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)
My pc/drivers are all up to date,but i dont know how to sort this,i haven,t
a clue.Can anyone help please?
my Ip is 82.41.120.211
subnet mask 255.255.248.0

I do not have a network but my pc has
marvell yukon ethernet adapter(unplugged)
asus wireless net connection(not connected)
1394 net adapter(says connected)
but my sb4200 is connected buy usb
any clues appreciated

The fact that you can't ping something doesn't mean it isn't alive and
working. ICMP traffic is blocked a lot of the time.
I don't know what the IP address you're pinging is, or from where. If this
is your home PC's public IP address, and you're trying to ping it from a
computer on the Internet, it's likely to fail. This is not a bad thing.

Kazaa, on the other hand, *is* a bad thing. Don't run it or anything like
it. You are asking for trouble, and that's not even getting into the issue
of legal trouble. Anybody who makes a living supporting PCs will tell you
the same thing - peer to peer file sharing software is Bad News. :(

Man, absolutely, wilco, roger, and all that stuff - get rid of Kazaa -
period.
