My "Network Connections" icon in Control Panel does not respond. The
icon just stays shaded. However, I can still get a right-click menu.
Luckily I had links to my Internet dialup connections on my desktop,
so I can still connect to the Internet.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Hi Paul,

Click Start | Run | type "regsvr32 netshell"

If this does not help, see if any policies are in place:

Thanks Ramesh! That fixed problem. What exactly was the problem? Is
there something I should do so that It doesn't happen again?
