In Windows 98, there is an option under Microsoft Networks Properties for a "Quick logon", which bypasses the step of connecting to network drives during logon. When I log on to Win XP, the logon is delayed by reason of Windows establishing network connections. I have a lot of network drives mapped to systems frequently not powered on, hence, I'm waiting while the connecting times out. Does anyone know of an equivalent setting in XP (pro) that would accomplish the same function that the "Quick logon" accomplishes in Windows 98?

Hi Pistol,

Actually, when you map a drive, you can clear the checkbox "Reconnect at
logon". Then when you restart it would not try to connect the mapped drives
until you try to access it.

I hope this information can help. Thank you for using Microsoft Newsgroup.
