Network connection problem

On e of our laptops has been returned after being used in another business.
When I started it up it went straight on to our network with the network
connection set up for the other business. However the log on screen does not
have the domain name on it and I am the only one who can log on. I have
tried to delete the connection but it won't let me delete even when I have
disabled it. Help - I am a failry basic almost beginner network
administrator. Thanks, Mon

You must re-register your laptop on your domain.

Can you just give me the steps for that? I thought I had done that but what
I think is registering may not be the correct definition. Thanks, Mon

Control Panel / System / Computer Name / Join a
Domain.

If you have no experience or training in maintaining
a server then I recommend that you get assistance
from a qualified person. You can engage such a person
by the hour, and most work could be performed
remotely. If you do this by yourself then sooner or later
you are likely to be confronted by a problem that could
easily have been avoided but that can be very expensive
to fix.
