Internet Connection Sharing and Profiles

I am trying to network 2 PC's using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). It's
not a straight forward connection as there is a domain issue I need to
contentd with.

Advice from a router supplier was, routers specific to ISDN modems are very
expensive and their best advice is to investigate setting up ICS in the main
PC and see if I can use profiles on the laptop (2nd PC to deal with the
network domain issues I have.

The configuration is as follows:

Main / Host PC : Windows XP (Home Edition) connected to a ISDN modem via
USB. ICS installed.
2nd PC : Windows 2000 Laptop that has a "business" domain setting which I
mustn't alter. ie I must be able to use this domain setting when not
networked to the Main / Host PC.
Cross Over Cable : Have purchased suitbale cable

Can anyone suggest where I can find info on how to set up an alternative
windows 2000 profile that allows me to network to the Host / Main PC but then
be able to use main profile to network to business network.

ICS doesn't really network PCs, unless you include the
fact that it supplies DHCP addresses (but any networks
suitable for ICS could probably forego that and work
anyway.)

What it does it allow a small network of PCs to use
one of their number to reach another network, usually
a main office or more commonly the Internet through
a single shared connection on that ICS PC.

Also note, that Domain issues really have nothing to
do with ICS except that ICS is NOT suitable for
networks with their own DNS or DHCP servers and
Active Directory Domains require such DNS.

Ok as long as it is a DHCP client -- that is fine.

Ok, but today small hubs are almost as cheap.

What is the office network profile? If it is not DHCP
for this client you will likely not succeed -- but I have
heard there is some hack to change the (normally) fixed
ICS internal NIC address and assignments.
