network cable unplugged

Hi i am trying to connect my windows xp home edition
system with windows xp professional. my connection icon on
my windows xphome edition says network cable unplugged.
but on my professional system it is connected. My windows
xp home edition system has Inte (R) PRO/100 VE Network
connection. Is there any thing i have to configure the
network card? or what else do u suggest
