Hi Steve,

There are many things that can cause a Network Cable
Unplugged message.

1. The network cable is defective.
2. The network cable is really unplugged.
3. The cable is a wrong type.
4. The cable connected to the uplink port instead of a
regular port.
5. Some hubs, switches and other devices disable the port
next to the uplink port when it's in use. Try a different
port.
6. The network card driver program isn't working right.
Try downloading compatible drivers for the network card.
7. It's plugged in at both ends but the computer on the
other end isn't turned on.

I hope this helps.

If you want to DIRECTLY connect the two PCs with a
single cable, it must be a CROSS-OVER Cable!

Thanks for the info. Bought 2 wrong cables would of been
cheaper to buy a hub. Thanks again.
