network cabel is unplugged

Hi,
I have two computers running Windows Xp. I already have connected my lan cards and crossover cable.
The problem im facing that whenever i enable the local area connection there comes a message "network cabel is unplugged." If i run the new network wizard an error message showing the message that some of my networks are not connected.
How do i get rid off.
 
Could the case by a bad cable?

Are you sure it's a crossover cable connected between the
computers?

Have you checked the cable to see if its good?

Also, check in "Device Manager" under "Network Adapters"
on all the computers that the nics are enabled.
