Network backups with USB 2.0 hard-drive

Anyone have experience of this? What I propose is to use external
hard-drives in USB 2.0 enclosures as backup media. I want to use Microsoft
Backup for full & differential unattended backups of peer-to-peer
Microsoft-networked PCs - mostly Win2k but some Win98 and may be XP.

- Does Win2K fully support USB 2.0?
- Will it appear as a Removal Media?
- Does Microsoft Backup backup to Removable Media?

Thanks.

The answers are yes, yes and yes, and I've done
to-disk backup strategies in the past (with mixed
results.)

I'd recommend you get a little $60 program called
"Backup MyPC" from Stomp, which actually is the old Veritas
desktop backup program updated with DVD-R support etc.
It will work much much better for you than MS Backup, especially
if you end up needing to do major restores.
