Network adapters

John Paul

When I list network adapters on my machine I see
1) NPF_GenericNdisWanAdapter
2) \Device\NPF_{9AE1591B-7D14-475F-BBB2-CE037CDCE405}
(3Com EtherLink PCI)
I only have one adapter which is the second one above.
The first one never works if I use it.
Why am I seeing the first one above.
THANK YOU...

If you are seeing this in Device Manager try selecting view and unselect show hidden
devices. It is normal to see multiple devices when hidden devices are shown. If it
still shows and you are sure it is not there you can try to uninstall it in Device
Manager. Maybe you have a nic built in to the motherboard in which case it can be
disabled by configuring the cmos of the computer. --- Steve
