George

I had SP2 installed and running for 1 week with no
apparent problems. After burning a data CD via
MediaPlayer, the system froze. After a hard boot, I no
longer had access to the Internet - message on Network
Connections window said "Unable to retrieve the list of
Newtwork Adapters". Message on Control Panel - "An error
occured while Windows was working with Control Panel
C:\Windows\System32\netsetup.cpl.
Any suggestions as to how to get back up?

Fortunately my back-up machine is running 2000 PRO.

George,

you may now have to do a repair installation of Windows XP.
Since you have SP2 installed, you want to do this from an
installation CD that has SP2 already integrated (slipstreamed).
You can make one of these yourself. Check the following link.
