Going through KB article 825826 (case 1 method 1)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825826/en-us . When I go into System
Properties...Hardware...Device Manager, there is no category for Network
Adapters. The list goes straight from Monitors to PCMCIA adapters. Running
Windows xp Media Center Edition. Anyone have an idea how to fix that? I
search the KB, but didn't find anything. Thanks.

BTW, got here because Network Connections only shows my wireless connection,
not the LAN connection. I re-installed my Generic Marvell Yukon Chipset
Based Gigabit Ethernet Controller, but no change. (Somehow my networking got
really screwed up during a Norton Internet Security 2008 install. Used
System Restore to get rid of all my resulting blue-screen errors, and used
the Norton Removal Tool to try to get rid of the failed installation, but my
networking is still all screwed up.)

Thanks. Last weekend I checked your link and tried a few other things, but
no luck. I did notice that my LAN adapter and wireless adapter (and a few
other things were in a catagory titled "Unknown" in Device Manager. Last
night I tried it again (ipconfig /release - ipconfig /renew, and a bunch of
pings), and suddenly I was connecting again. I have no idea why, but at
least it's working. Thanks for responding.
