Empty Network Connections

Hello,

I am using Windows XP Professional SP2. This is a week-old installation.

My Network Connections folder is empty. I've tried everything in KB825826
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/825826) with no luck. I tried a
repair install of Windows and a reinstallation of SP2.

When I run ipconfig, my network adapters are listed like this:
Ethernet adapter {C66E39E4-B0EA-4EF4-A25D-F98C0ACD2A43}

I have an nVidia network adapter as well as a Realtek adapter and both of
them are affected so I doubt it's a driver issue.

I'm not sure what would cause this; I thought I'd ask before doing another
format/install.

Thanks,
Kevin

Go to Device Manager and remove all network adapters. Reboot and let
XP re-install them.

I tried that; no luck. Though it did cause the network adapters' names to
change to a new ID or hash, the format was still the same. Network
Connections is still empty.

Apparently I have the same issue since I ran the last Microsoft Windows XP
Updates. Ever since then I am missing Network Connections.

Apparently I have the same issue since I ran the last Microsoft Windows XP
Updates. Also installed a patch for Internet Explorer (6). Ever since then I
am missing Network Connections.
