Hi I know this question doesnt fit in this topic but I
really need help. What is an NETWORK ADAPTER????????
PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE!!

a network adaptor is a card (circuit board) that fits
inside your pc and allows you to connect a cat5 network
cable to another machine/hub/router etc (in a similar way
that a modem is a card that connects to your phone line)
Without one, there is no way to physically connect your
pc to a network (ok - in some cases you can use a serial
or parallel cable, but a network card is the most
common/versatile).There are also some usb versions
available, and many new pc's now have them built in as
standard.
You may also hear them referred to as NIC's (network
interface card)or LAN cards/adaptors.

If you need further advice or recommendations, try the
networking newsgroups (win xp, 2000 etc)
