Hi,

I'm having a very wierd problem on a home network. My friend has 2 computers
connected together through a hub and the hub also connect to it's DSL modem, the
problem is that from the HP computer he can share anything and the other
computer can access it, but it's impossible to access anything that is shared on
the other computer; all I get when I try is a "Access denied" message

I checked both computer and all the services are the same and even the access is
set to let him acces the data, but it still doesn't let it (BTW the usename and
password are the same for both).

I even tried to create a new account on both computers in an attempt to make it
work from that account, and still doesn't work

How can I fix that

Okay Martin, It appears to me problem with your account.
TO SUCCESSFULLY WORK SHARE FOLDERS AND FILES,

YOU NEED:

1. DHCP OR PRIVATE ADDRESS IN THE SAME SUBNET. (I think you have that
correct since you can get the files from one computer).

2. Make sure both computers have the same username and password for
ADMINISTRATOR or Any other account. (That is what your problem most likely to
me).

3. Check your SHARE SECURITY! MAKE SURE EVERYONE have full control or
something in the shared folder.

Those are the three I can think of since you can access your files from one
computer!! Good luck!

Do you have any firewalls on either machine? built in, hardware or 3rd party
software ones? If so, disable or uninstall them whilst troubleshooting. If
this solves the problem, you need to configure them to allow traffic to pass
both ways on the LAN

All the solution that you propose have already been check and tried and I still
have the same problem, the sharing goes one way only

The only firewall that exist is the Windows XP SP2's

BTW Both computer have XP Pro installed
