Netscape took over IE's icons

My wife went over to a friend's house to help with her
computer. She called me and said when she clicks on the IE
shortcut (either from the desktop or programs menu)
Netscape starts!

I had her navigate to the folder where IE lives and create
a shortcut to the iexplore.exe program. When she clicked
on that shortcut Netscape started!

This person is using Windows XP.

Any ideas how to fix this and get rid of Netscape of this
persons computer?
