Netscape Bookmarks

I use both the Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator
but my browser of choice is the Netscape Communicator.

When I upgraded to XP Home version, all of my Netscape
bookmarks vanished. Have I lost these bookmarks for good?
I've bookmarked over 200 sites!

I've checked "bookmark.htm" but it's empty and the "import
favourites" on the IE doesn't contain them all either.

Any suggestions? The upgrade wasn't supposed to change my
settings.

Did you search for Bookmark.htm using the search utility?
You may have more than one.

We have seen cases of Bookmark.htm being wiped out on
Windows 2000 and the only explanation we found was related
to a security issue where, once a user was upgraded to
Win2K, without admin rights, the file Bookmark.htm was
replaced by the default one, only the title "Bookmark of
XXX" would remain. Unless you have a backup copy of
Bookmark.htm then it's gone.

Thanks for the answer, Ti-Bob. Actually, I did a search
of files and found 10 refernces to "bookmark.thm" which
were directly related to my netscape browser. Apparently,
the bookmarks from my old browser 4.79 DID NOT vanish nor
did the others from 7.0 or 7.1. All the plugins got
disconnected, though. I created a shortcut of the largest
bookmark.htm and placed it on my desk top. This opens the
bookmarks page and when you click on the link within, the
browser does open to that site.
All I have to do is now figure out where to put the darn
thing so they're within the browser's control again.

Looks like Bill Gates is determined to force us to use IE
rather than Netscape. Best advice from me would be to
store a copy of your "bookmark.htm" from Windows 98/SE/ME
2000 in a safe place and put it somewhere once XP is on.
All in all, XP is good but it's pain to get used to.

No problem man,
Just put Bookmark.htm in you user's directory, typically:
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\USERPROFILE. This way
Netscape will use it. Replace the one already there.
By the way Bookmarks.html are related to 7.X and
Bookmark.htm to 4.X. Always backup you important stuff!
