Netowrk Share Connection Problem

Running WinXP Pro SP2

I dont' know what happened, but now, for some reason, I'm unable to access
network shares that I have been able to access all along. If I try to access
any share via UNC (ie: \\computer\share) I get an error stating "The network
path was not found". Even if I just try the computer name only (\\computer)
I get the same error. Everyone else in the building can connect to all
comptuers and share as usual with no problems.

I am able to ping the computers fine as well as connect via other protocols
(http, sql (odbc) for example).

I'm the network admin here and I make all the shares and set all permissions
so I know for sure it isn't a permissions issue (my account also has domain
admin rights).

The only change I made right before this problem started was that I changed
my IP to a static address. I have since change it back to dynamic to see if
this would make a difference but it has not.

I'm hoping there's an answer before I have to do a clean reinstall of my OS.
The system is new (about two weeks now).

TIA,
Jim

I found my problem. I found that 'Client for Microsoft Netowrks' was
unchecked in the NIC properties. Ooops.
