I have a home wireless network using a DLink wireless
router. I am trying to connect to my desktop computer from
my laptop via Netmeeting remote desktop sharing. The two
computers are inside the router firewall. I setup the
desktop computer to have remote desktop sharing active.
Also on both computers the incoming and outgoing security
boxes are checked under the Netmeeting
Tools/Options/Security tab. I have not been successful in
logging on to the desktop. When I call the desktop IP
address I get the login dialog box asking for username,
password and domain. I am not running a domain network so
I enter the user name and password. I get a message to the
effect that I must log on as an administrator for this to
work. I am using Window XP Home edition on both computers.
Is there something in Windows XP Home that prevents using
Netmeeting remote desk top sharing? I have successfully
loggged on to a Windows 2000 computer outside the firewall
using the exact same technique with my laptop.
