Netgear WG311 Atheros chipset drivers

I've got a Netgear WG311 (v2) wireless networking PCI card. Netgear do not
provide any drivers for Vista at all, and after a bit of investigation they
don't even seem to support XP64 so drivers are unlikely to be released soon.
One suggestion I've seen says to try the Atheros chipset drivers, as its
these that Netgear cards are based, however I can't find any Vista drivers
anywhere - has anyone had any luck with Netgear cards or know where to find
Vista Atheros drivers?

radionotme,

I just installed Vista on a Intel 945 NGTl Motherboard.

Vista did not recognize the Wireless device at first. I simply installed the
software CD that came with the card. Using "Device Manager", I simply
directed the driver search to the installation CD from Netgear. I then used
the built in Wireless program from Windows to scan for the SSID I created and
in seconds I was up and running. I then removed the Netgear software from the
"Start-up", and let Windows handle the connection duties.

My install was Vista 32 Bit
Build 5384
Same Netgear Card WG311 (V.2)

Good Luck.

I ended up just connecting via ethernet, and then Windows found the drivers
online and it all works fine!

Now, to sort out my soundcard...;-)
