Netgear PA301 problems

For the past 4 years or so I have had my 2 home computers hooked together via
the phoneline with Netgear PA301 adapters in each computer. I've never had a
problem. They are both setup to share the internet and data . Nothing works
now except host computer can still access internet.

When I turn on my computer I get the following message." Your network
adapter Broadcom 10 (tm) (0001) is not working properly. You may need to set
it up again."

Netgear PA301 is no longer listed under device manager but Broadcom iline 10
(tm) is with a yellow "flag". Also, under other devices is listed PCI
Ethernet Controller with a yellow flag and question mark.

I haven't a clue what this is all about or what to do about it. I know I
have never installed a Broadcom adapter. I would like to remove these items
but I'm concerned that I may lose my internet conn. by messing around with
PCI controller.

Any help would be appreciated
