Wonder if someone here can please help...

Window Defender reports that it is blocking programs from starting up when I
start my computer. When I look at the file, it reports it as netfxupdate.com
research on this file on the internet is of no help. All I get are reports
which indicate that it may be a valid Windows file or it may be a trojan
horse! Well which is it?

Also, in searching my hard drive, I am seeing two instances of this file in
two seperate folders. One has an August 06 date, the other is a couple of
years earlier. Defender claims that one of them is running, so I tried
renaming the other, but Defender STILL says it is blocking it when I start
the computer.

So I am totally confused and wonder if anyone can shed some light on this.

Thanks

Well, thanks for the attempt but this did nothing to answer my question. As
I had stated, research on the internet didn't help me, it just confused me
even more as most explanations of this file state that it could be a windows
file, and at the same time claim that it could be a trojan horse. How do I
tell what it is? Also, the two files on my computer are files from two
different dates, both of which are dates from before I even purchased the
computer. So I have no idea what's going on there either.
