Our end user is unable to view computers on our network
through My Network Places. He's running Windows XP SP1,
Cisco VPN client 363b over ADSL USB modem.
His computer is a member of our domain and he can
successfully ping our network computers with the format
<computer-name.local> and well as successfully pinging by
IP address.
But if he tries to ping with simply <computer-name> it
gives the reply Timed Out.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. We've had
trouble in the past with ADSL and USB, but he seems to
connect to VPN just fine, and like I said he can ping
computers via IP and adding .local to the end of the
computer name.
I'm at a loss.
Thanks
