Net Send doesn't work on XP Wrkstns

I have several scripts running on our Win 2k server that perform "Net Send"
functions to our clients but the messages do not work on the XP
workstations.Has this functionality been removed from Windows XP Pro or is
there something I have to enable? The messaging service is running and it
still doesn't work

is it an SP2 friewall issue?
