Net Send Between 2003 Server & 2000 Workstations

Net Send between 2000 workstations work fine but trying to
Net Send to or from Server 2003 to 2000 workstation ..
receives this message ..

An error occurred while sending a message to Computer Name.
The message alias could not be found on the network.

I need to send an Alert from the server to specific
workstations.

Any Ideas

Make sure the Messenger service is running. It is disabled by default in
Win2k3.
