I have 10 WinXP and 4 Win98 computers on a W2003 network. All of the 98
machines use Win Popup to send messages to others users. On 2 of the XP
machines they recieve the messages but on the others they do not. Does anyone
know why? I have looked a the computers that don't recieve the messages and
don't see the difference. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Make sure that the Messenger service is running on XP:

1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click Messenger. If the Service status is Stopped, click
Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.

If that fails, see if there are any relevant messages in Event Viewer.
To run it, click Start | Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance |
Administrative Tools | Event Viewer. For more information, see:

Yes the messenger service is running on all machines and is set to automatic
in Services. Any other ideas? I have not seen any errors in Event viewer as
far as this service.

If there's a firewall, make sure that it allows Messenger service
traffic.
