.NET Framework 1.1

I installed an update for . NET Framework 1.1 that forces
me to log on to Windows even though I am the sole user. I
found a work around the sign on but it doesn't work for
me. Would there be any harm in deleting this update via
Add/Remove Programs? Thanks!

Thank you, Nicholas.

Download and install TweakUI:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "Logon", click on "Autologon" and place a check
next to "Log on automatically at system startup", then click "apply".

Goto Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2"
Then under the users tab, uncheck Users must enter a username/pass to use
this computer"
Then press ok and Enter your username/password

Or

Alternatively, you can use TweakUI for Windows XP to do this.
See the Logon/Auto-Logon Section
