Nero! Who knows how to use it?

I hear you all talking about Nero. I downloaded a video file and wanted to
burn it onto a disc. I did it eventually but it didn't work on any dvd player
i know and the process was confusing. I'm not sure if i did it right anyway.
Can anyone please help???

You need to be making a "DVD Video". See documentation that got installed
with the product: for "Nero Vision Express".
