Nero 7 'rundll32' error fixed!

I just installed the latest Nero 7 update (version 7.5.9.0A). The error with
browsing MPEG files still occurs, but when I renamed the file 'NeVideo.ax'
to 'NeVideo.ax.bak', the error went away! The Nero programs appear to still
be working. I've got Burning ROM, Cover Designer, Recode and BackItUp
working without problems. I haven't tried Nero Vision but I don't use that
anyway.

Thanks to whoever suggested renaming that file!

Hello Brian.
How did you get it installed? I thought I give it a try as my Roxio7 did
not install at all and downloaded the evaluation version for 7.5.9.A. The
installer wanted to install Directx9c onto my machine although Vista comes
with Directx10. I thought that if they have not even tested the installer,
it would never work. How did you make it install? Why would a burning
software require DirectX anyway?

Thanks and best regards,
Peter.

I ran the installer using the (hidden) administrator account, but I don't
think that's necessary (haven't checked). I just pressed 'Next' when it
asked for the installation of DX9 - I don't think it actually gets
installed. After installing, I browsed to the C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Ahead\DSFilter folder and renamed the 'NeVideo.ax' file to
'NeVideo.ax.bak' to get rid of the rundll32 error message. Nero works fine.
