Need Windows XP Hotfix Help!!!!

I have 42 Windows XP Hotfix programs, messages, folders or whatever they
are with numbers next to them in my Add/Remove Programs folder. I want
to remove them but when I try they say that if I do almost every
program in my computer my become unstable or quit working. I then close
out because I'm not sure if anything will go wrong with the computer. Is
there someone who knows what to do or if I can remove these without my
computer crashing? Please help!!

When you say 'remove them' do you mean uninstall them because that's what
you're doing by using add/remove programs. If that's what you're trying to
do my questions would be, why?

Hi

Do *not* delete them by running them from Add/Remove Programs (ARP),
this will uninstall important security updates.

To remove the uninstall folders (and their corresponding entries in
ARP), you can use this utility by fellow MVP Doug Knox (Windows 2000
and XP):

Remove Hotfix Backup files and the Add/Remove Programs Registry Entries

No, you don't! There are the Windows fixes (mostly security)
you've been downloading and installing all along. Remove them and
you will put back the problems and security exposures they were
designed to fix.

Good. You did the right thing.

Do not remove these. You can however delete their backup files.
See http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm.
