Yahoo mail used to have a utility whereby when one clicked on an email
link in a webpage, it opened your yahoo email and inserted the
address, etc. Is there a utility that will allow me to do this with
*any* web based email service?

Just say YAHOO! also hotmail and just about every major website out
there... Even the Buffalo Bills have free mail addys at
http://www.gobills.net/ . For a short comparison see:
http://www.dailyedeals.com/connect/email.htm

YAHOO!'s link it's on the right side of their logo on the homepage
(www.yahoo.com) or you can go to mail.yahoo.com (note NO www in front
of URL). A few bells that YAHOO! mail has that most others do not
have is the ability to pick up your POP mail from your ISP, text only
or HTML formats, Smilies (in HTML obviously), 4Megs free (more
available @ a small fee), choose the free @yahoo.com (.ca .au etc) or
pay a few $ and get your own @RockyRockman.com, and the BIGGEST
feature a spam filter that works well.
