Need to Retrieve Secured Files

Recently had to install a new harddrive due to issues
with the OEM drive - on which Windows was degrading to
the point of unusability. A repair/reinstall failed on
the OEM drive. I have the OEM drive set-up as a slave
but am unable to retrieve any files from the drive due, I
believe, to security. Is there a known way around this?

If you encrypted those files and did not back up your security key to a
floppy, then you will not be able to retrieve them.
