Need to remove picture from background

When I go to Format/background/fill effects/picture it only gives me the
choice of selecting another picture. I want to delete the existing one and go
back to a blank white screen. Or do I just need to add a blank slide to the
master and use that instead? Thanks in advance.
 
Go to Format/background, but don't pick Fill Effects. Just pick a color and
choose Apply or Apply All.
