need to open access97 when access2000 installed

I need HELP ! I need to know if there is anyway to open a
secure Access97 db when Office2000 is installed on the PC.
Office97 was never on this PC. I cannot convert the db as
there are still many Office97 users that need to use the
Access97 db. How can I allow a user to open and change
data in Access97 going thru Access2000 ? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. I did join the Office2000 user to
the Access97 secure mdw file and I get a message that I
can't open or convert.

You need to split the database into frontend/backend. Leave the backend in
version 97. Give your 97 users a 97 version of the frontend. You can give
the 2000 users a 2000 version of the frontend. A 2000 frontend will have no
trouble linking to a 97 backend.
