How to gain access to a file if User Level Security DB is missing

We have been trying to convert an Access97 database to Access2000. We are
having problems because the security file that was attached to this DB has
been deleted and cannot be restored. Some objects cannot be exported to a
blank DB shell because their ownership is <Unknown> (probably since the
security file was deleted).

Is there any way we can take ownership of these "Unowned" objects?

Hi.

The lost workgroup information file can be recreated, even in Access 2K, as
long as the workgroup name, workgroup ID, user names and personal ID's are
duplicated exactly. If this information was not documented or the
administrator who secured the database doesn't remember this information,
then you'll need to get an Access recovery service who specializes in
user-level security to convert the database to Access 2K for you.

Hi,

Where can we find an Access recovery service? Would it be easily found by
searching the Internet?

(P.S. This database is still in Access97.)

Thanks again,
Brenda

Hi.

Yes.

(P.S. This database is still in Access97.)

Access 97 is still a common format, so you'll find Access database
specialists who can help you.
