need to kill add windows components w/o rebooting

i've attempted to add a windows component to a windows 2000 server system
and the add component wizard has crashed (indicated "not responding" in task
manager). when i try to end task, i get an error message telling me "the
program cannot be closed. if the program is being debugged, resume it or
close the debugger first." when i attempt to open another instance of the
wizard it tells me there's already one running. when i use "kill" from the
support tools it tells me sysocmgr.exe cannot be killed. i can't reboot the
server because there are a number of connections that can't be terminated.
what do i do? thanks

Why can't you terminate the connections after hours and reboot?

i need to add additional windows components before then (and i keep getting
the message that i've already got an instance of the wizard running).
