Hello,

I have an ACER laptop bought two years ago. I could'nt find the windows XP
CD. Recently I have had an attack (spyware, malware, etc.). After cleaning
the computer with SpywareDoctor some files were lost. Now I can't configure
services anymore ; a message say that plu-and-play or another needed service
is not activated. And during the cleaning operation I have had limited the
services. so now, I don't have acces to usb keys, neither to network nor
wifi. In addition I can't create CD or DBD anymore. En bref, c'est grave.
I tried to install SP2 from a disk I have, it didn't work because
cryptography service to check the hash code of the disk cannot be activated
I tried to install an old version of windows xp, i have a message telling
that i will loose all my configuration since the installed version is more
recent tahn the one i tried to install
Can anyone help me where I can download Windows XP version 2002 home edition?
Does anyone have a clue what are the missing files to make the services
configurables?

Thanks for any help

You can't download it, you will need to Contact Acer for replacement
installation media.

Thanks to you both

I have followed your advice and have sent a message to Acer support.

But, do you have any idea why I can't open the propertioes dialog to
configure the services. Is there anything to check. The message I get when I
try to open the properties dialog for a service i tells that plug-and-play
service or another needed service is not activated; And I get this message
for any service I try to configure

" Recently I have had an attack (spyware, malware, etc.). After cleaning
the computer with SpywareDoctor some files were lost", is probably only
surface damage.
