Need to format cell after appling protection.

I am using Excel '97'. I have protected a worksheet and locked the cells with
formulas. However, I cannot format the 'unlocked' cells to use color after
the protection is applied (even though the particular cell is not checked
'locked' under Format/Cells/Protection. Does anyone have any ideas how to
color an 'unlocked' cell when the sheet is protected?

Thanks,

Phil

If you have protected the worksheet, simply un-protect it, make your
changes, and then protect it again.
Anyway ...
