Need to connect

I have WinXP and IE6. Recently when I click on the IE
icon at bottom of screen the IE screen does not open but
I see a little box that states I have to connect. When I
click on the 'connect' the IE window opens. In the past,
when I signed on to AOL9 and then clicked the little IE
icon at bottom (left) of screen, the IE window would open
automatically. Would someone know why the IE window is
not opening automaticlly?

Check the "Connections" settings in Tools | Internet Options |
Connections tab. If you're on cable/dsl you could set it to: "Never dial
a connection"
