Need to add second IP to NIC

T

theGerm

I have a couple of clients that are assigned a IP via DHCP. I need to
be able to assign a second IP to their NICs through DHCP that is on a
different subnet. Is this possible?

Thanks

Hello theGerm,

No, the client can get only one ip over DHCP, because the DHCP server just
provide one address from the configured scope. What will you achive on the
other subnet? Give a littlebit more info about what you like to reach theire.

Best regards

Two IP's require Two NICs and Two data connections (wired or
wireless). Yes, it can be done on one PC. I have laptops in a
student setting that get lessons off wired NIC and Internet off
wireless (it also helps throttle down internet since wireless is
shared - they only research off the internet when absolutely
neccessary!)
