IP address problems

I have a stand along server running windows 2000 server with a static IP
address that is on the same subnet of a domain/DHCP server. I lost my NIC
drivers on my stand alone and after fixing the drivers DHCP assigned my
server a new IP address. I changed my IP address back to the original static
address and now my domain clients are looking for the DHCP assigned IP
address and not my static address.

I went in and deleted the address assigned by DHCP and when I ping my server
the DHCP IP address still shows up. This is only isolated to my domain
clients. I have 2 other servers that can correctly identify the correct
static IP address of my stand alone.

To get my domain clients up and running I changed my server IP address back
to the DHCP assigned address. This has my clients up and running but now I am
experiencing clients that lose track of where my server is. My preference
would be to have my original static IP address

Any ideas how I get myself out of this one?

Thanks in Advance

Try:

1. Assign the static address on the server.

2. Delete any conflicting host records in DNS.

3. On clients run: ipconfig /flushdns

Didn't know you had WINS - but yeah - you need to clear conflicting records
there too.
