need some major help!

I accidently downloaded something from the internet, which installed itself
onto my computer and changed all of my settings, all the folders I had when
you go to start, all programs are no longer there, under accessories and
system tools there is nothing there anymore, and my computer is running a lot
slower and I can't even open up some applications. I've already tried spybot
and adaware, and both have found infections and destroyed them but I still
have no fix to my problems. It is not even letting me access task manager.
Please if someone can help me figure out what to do it would be much
appreciated!

You dont accidently download, the user does it as a deliberate act.
Presumably you dont have any decent, updated, anti virus application, spybot
& adaware are both malaware detection apps, not anti virus apps
You could try an online scan at eg www.trendmicro.com, or www.symantec.com

Often times with compromises systems it's best to start from
scratch..reinstall a clean copy of the OS and programs.
