A teachers workstation would not connect to the the network so took it out
of the domain to a workgroup and was going to bring it back in to the domain
but the administrator password evidently has been changed from the one i
used to install the XP software. I need to get this computer back into the
domain without losing all the teacher's work... I used to have a file to
get a lost password but i can't find it either... I'm 62 today and ready
for retirement if they will let me goooooooo. charlie

The password to the workstation should be the same password to the domain
server. It doesn't work. charlie

No, it wants the password to the local administrator account. All network or
domain accounts are now invalid on the machine until it rejoins the domain.

If it isn't simple to do, i will have to reinstall the OS... That may be
the fastest thing to do now... charlie

Nope. When you attempt to rejoin the domain, it sends a request out
across the LAN to the DC. That request must come from an account that
has privileges allowing that account to join computers to the domain.
Not that many LAN admins will let the plain-jane local Administrator
account do this.
