Can't logon now I've left the domain

Hi,
I think I've really screwed up my laptop.

I tried to get my work laptop onto my home network so that I could
connect to the internet. I took it out of the work domain and tried to
join the workgroup. It accepted the administrator password I had to
type in to leave the domain. It said welcome to the workgroup.

However, when it rebooted, it asked me to type in a user name and
password. It won't accept any of my usual passwords, not even the
admin password I used to leave the domain.

Can anybody suggest how I might be able to get back onto my laptop?

Thanks for any help

You need to ask your network administrator at work for
the password of the local "Administrator" account.

That's what I was worried you might say! He's quite new and is our
only I.T. guy. My laptop is a few years old. What happens if he
doesn't have the password?

If he's worth his salt then he'll be able to fix your machine.
