Need new home use printer

I just discovered I have to replace my HP photosmart inkjet 1115
printer and am looking for recommendations.
After using the photosmart portion of the old printer, I soon found I
preferred just using my Adobe PhotoShop software, so the new printer
will not have such applications. I just want a very good, reliable
color printer for my desk for home use. I print many spreadsheets as
well as work with crafts as well as print many photos. Someone
suggested splurging and getting the new laser color but I don't want
laser, as the colors are not as true when printing photos. I don't
care which brand. I have noticed the HP cartridges seem to be more
expensive that others. If they are worth it, I would still consider
the HP. Thanks Liz

Stay with Canon. There are a lot of opinions on this board, however
it appears that people agree on a Canon printer. Even the most famous
OEM ink advocate Measekite will tell you to get a Canon. Most people
on this board disagree with Measekite opinion....with the exception of
buying a Canon printer.

You can buy (on sale with rebate) a new Canon IP4300 for about $60.00.
And be sure to use Canon ink.

However, if you do not want to print photos at all and need it for office work only then you might want to look at an HP inkjet or a color laser.

Take a look at the DeskJet 6940. It is a fast printer and very sturdy. It
uses the large #96 and 97 cartrdiges, rated at 850 pages black and 590 pages
color. See
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...1=Printers&product_code=C8970A#B1H&catLevel=2
for spec's and
http://h10060.www1.hp.com/pageyield/us/en/DJ6940-6980/index.html for page
yield information.

Compared to your current Photosmart 1115 the DeskJet 6940 is faster and will
make longer lasting photo prints. The printing costs will be similar.
Unlike the Photosmart 1115 the DeskJet 6940 can make full borderless photo
prints.

Isn't it better to get a printer using HP 363 inks? (I believe it's
#02 in the US). Dead easy to refill ;-)
Those are usually slightly more expensive, but one'll recuperate that
price difference with a stressless refills!
