I just upgraded my MB and CPU on my XP Home-based system.
I am keeping my current HDD. When I first started the
system, I set my BIOS to boot from CD-ROM and booted the
system from my Win XP installation CD. The system brought
me up to the options screen for "Installation", "Repair
using the repair console", and "exit". I hit "enter" to
install XP. Normally this would bring me to the next
option where I could select installation repair. Insted,
I'm getting a message the bottom of the screen that XP is
examining my hard drive @ID 0 on bus 0 on atapi . . .
The system hangs right there.
The HDD is properly installed as the master, and is
recognized by the bios.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
